RMCAD is an art school like no other. we help all of the artists and designers who enroll with us to find their voice, discover their own paths, and thrive as art and design professionals.

No matter the artist you aspire to become, you need to start with the basics. Foundation Studies courses at RMCAD will help you to refine fundamental skills, such as sketching, sculpting, and the study of composition and color theory. You’ll also practice creative problem solving while honing your computer literacy.

All RMCAD students, regardless of major, will take between 12 and 21 credit hours of Foundations coursework during the freshman and sophomore years. With a combination of studio projects and written assignments, these classes challenge you to explore materials, techniques, and critiques in new ways. You’ll work with everything from charcoal to software to woodworking tools as you enhance your visual expression.
Free services include resume and interview critiques; workshops and networking events; internships; and cutting-edge job search tools. And for grads, the RMCAD Alumni Association is loaded with services, discounts, and our one-of-a-kind RMCAD Renew Program, which give you lifetime audit privileges within your original major, completely tuition free.
The RMCAD Library provides state-of-the-art information services to all students. The Library offers online support and resources for every academic program. You’ll have access to numerous online journal article databases, e-book databases, government information, and general reference material such as online dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc.

RMCAD’s approach to hybrid education provides the best of both worlds and allows students to get the most from their college experience. All of our campus students will take a portion of their coursework online. Here’s how it works:
– Many classes are offered both online and on-campus.
– Some classes are offered only online.
